Former Judge Advocate General of NZ, Former Director of Service Prosecutions UK and Former War Crimes Judge to speak at MTYBA CPD event on 15th Oct

Christopher Hodson QC, Bruce Houlder CB QC DL and Paul Garlick QC will be speaking on the topic of "War Crimes and Military Law" at Church Court Chambers on the evening of 15th October 2015. 

Christopher Hodson QC was Judge Advocate General of New Zealand from 2008 - 2013 and is currently the Vice President of the International Equestrian Federation.

Bruce Houlder CB QC DL was appointed by Her Majesty as the first Director of Service Prosecutions from 2009-2013.  He was also Chairman of the Criminal Bar Association of England and Wales in 2001 and currently sits as a Recorder in the Crown Court.  He is the Representative Deputy Lieutenant for the London Borough of Hillingdon.

In 2005 Paul Garlick QC was appointed by Paddy Ashdown to sit as an international judge for war crimes to the criminal and appellate divisions of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.  In 2013 Paul was appointed as an International Expert to the Council of Europe and was part of a project designed to underline the relevance and importance of the European Convention on Human Rights to the Turkish criminal justice system.

The event will start at 6.30pm sharp and will run until approximately 9.30pm.  Free drinks and refreshments will be provided after the lecture and Q&A.
